Usually I really love stripes. But Tyra's love for this pattern is a bit overwhelming. All I have to say is Ty-Ty, why why?!!??!??! I think my biggest issue with this outfit is the sleeves. Oh those sleeves! If you take the big sleeves away this dress would actually be very flattering on her (and very 1950's inspired).
What do you think of this dress on her? Would you wear it???
This is exactly why I love fall weather. There is nothing like layering on jackets and scarves. I saw this picture of Rachel Bilson looking casual yet totally chic, and got really excited about the upcoming 60-something degree weather this coming weekend. Lately I have been looking forward to autumn just a tad too much...and it can't get here quick enough in my opinion! Anyone agree???
One big change that I have had to adjust to here in Pennsylvania is the temperature fluctuation. Every morning when I wake up it is in the 40s or 50s (this morning it was 46 degrees!) and then by the late afternoon it reaches the upper 70s/low 80s. Kinda crazy! In NYC the weather did not fluctuate so dramatically. So I'm having to learn how to dress appropriately for the weather. One word- LAYERING!
dress- Forever 21
tights- We Love Colors
shoes- Kimchi Blue from Urban Outfitters
bangles- they were my mom's from when she was a teenager
***I have been dying to break out some tights lately. Today I finally did just that!!!
Since I moved I have been getting a local fashion party together so I can try to meet some local readers and fashionistas. I'm really excited to be working on a fashion party with Juli from Bella Jules. Her boutique is adorable and I really hope that if you are in the area that you stop on by and say hello! :-)
One of my favorite places to look for a terrific deal has to be the sale racks at Anthropologie. Check out this amazing pair of Level 99 Rinse Slim Bootcut Jeans on sale now for only $49.95 (originally priced at $98). Select sizes remain...so hurry before your size is sold out!
Today I'm playing it very casual...jeans and a tunic. I threw on a crocheted cardigan since it was very cool out this morning. I'm really ready for it to be fall already. This in between weather is driving me crazy. Too hot for half of my wardrobe, yet too cool for the other half. ARGH!!!
jeans- Old Navy
tunic- Sparkle from Urban Outfitters
cardigan- Lucky Brand
shoes- Charlotte Ronson
Oh yeah, I don't think I showed you guys the AMAZING Charlotte Ronson platfom sandals I recently got via Gilt (for free!!!). I'm so in love with them. They make me insanely tall. :-)
During Fashion Week there is one designer that never lets me down---Christian Siriano. Lots of white, animal print, and ruffles upon ruffles. Christian is always taking things to the next level. All I have to say is well done Christian. Well done.
Here are some of m favorite looks from the show---
I love Lela Rose! You may remember last season I was lucky enough to attend her show in the tents. For her Spring 2011 collection she really focused on bright pops of color and short dresses. I just adore these designs! These are a few of my favorite---

Neutral, feminine, simple, and flowing describe Max Azria's Spring 2011 collection. To me the majority of the pieces look like something that a Greek goddess (and myself) would wear. I'm not even a huge fan of pants but I really love his pants looks here. So pretty, so chic!
Here are a few of my favorite looks straight from the runway---

I absolutely HATE the rain. However, the one thing I know will put me in a better mood on a rainy afternoon is rainboots! So many styles and prints to choose from...you know that you'll find a great pair that will make you want to go splash in the puddles.
I just got word of a fabulous rainboot company called Plueys. They have so many amazing boots at rather reasonable prices. They currently have a new limited edition design created by print and pattern maker Marceline Smith from Scotland. The design is called SEW CUTE. It is a collage of vintage buttons, inspired by the souks and bustling markets of Marakesh, Morrocco. Sew Cute slim fit rainboot features a unique matte texture. It is comfortably lined with a deep olive cotton lining printed with the exclusive Marceline Smith signature logo.
Right now all of Snapshot Fashion's readers are getting a special deal on their rainboots. Receive 10% off by typing in the word snapshotfashion at checkout. This deal will be available through October 31st.

The one thing that has me a little sad this year...I will not be attending NYFW or Fashion Night Out. Since I just moved a few weeks ago it makes it a little bit difficult to take off work and travel back to NYC when I have all the expenses of moving going on. Has me a little sad, because this time of year is SO MUCH FUN in the city!
For all of you that will be attending Fashion Night Out I suggest that you stop on by Shop Addicts Fashion Night Out Event on September 10, 2010 at Touch Lounge starting at 5pm. Taking part in this event is our friend Mary Beirne from gla.MAR.ous. Procedes will go towards a non-profit organization that helps empowers and sponsors your girls and women to pursue an education in Mozambique Africa. There is nothing better than shopping for a good cause!!!
Not only will there be a lot of shopping going on at this event...but there will be an indie fashion show too where you will be able to get a preview of gla.MAR.ous's collection for Spring 2011.
You must RSVP if you want to attend this event. There are 3 tickets for this Fashion Night Out event:
Free Admission:- Includes 1 drink Ticket & Spa Treatments
Regular Admission- Includes Drink Ticket & Gift at door-$10
VIP- Includes Goodie bag (worth $100) plus drinks all night & spa $30
Lately Drew Barrymore has been out and about promoting her new movie, Going the Distance (which I really want to see by the way!). While making appearances on talk shows I noticed one thing that she loves...her YSL grey platform pumps.
I love seeing that some celebs wear certain pieces over and over again. It just makes them seem more human to me. What I love about what Drew does here is she really wears them with everything. She dresses them up...then dresses them down.
Do you adore Drew's shoes, but don't have close to $800 to afford them. No worries. I found two great alternatives that will give you a similar look but won't break the bank.
