Look of the Day- Aztec Summer

Currently in NYC we are in the middle of a serious heatwave, as is much of the country. I actually heard on the news this morning that if the heatwave continues as planned for the week it will be the hottest week in NYC in ten years! Yikes!

When I think of summer I instantly think of pretty sundresses, bright colors, and bold prints! If you can't beat the heat you might as well be comfortable while looking very cool. Tribal prints are always a hit! Check out this adorable look I put together for a hot day like today.

Look of the Day

1) Sundress in Dial Aztec Print available at ASOS- $50.91
2) Mallory Necklace available at DANNIJO- $550
3) Sueded Multi-Strap Sandals available at Old Navy- $24.94
4) Montague Leather Zipper Top Tote available at Brooklyn Industries- $288 (take an extra 25% off with the promo code 25BAG)

How are you staying cool today???

Cooking Channel Fashionistas

I'm not going to lie, I watch more television than I should. The crazy thing is that I'd say about 50% of my television viewing is of food shows...especially on the Cooking Channel. My husband and I love to cook...and better yet, we love to eat. Even though I typically watch these shows for the recipes and the fun personalities of the hosts, I often watch it for the style. The added bonus of fabulous hair, perfect makeup, and a drool worthy wardrobe makes me love these following ladies even more!

Debi Mazar of Extra Virgin- her style is all about the drama, vintage dresses (that she cooks complicated Italian meals in), and glamorous hair.

Nadia G. of Bitchin' Kitchen- her style is a little bit rock and roll, very edgy, a little bit crazy (in a good way), and with a shoe collection that is out of this world.

Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark of Tripping Out with Alie & Georgia- these ladies are quirky, classy, and full of pizzazz!

What do you think about mixing fashion and food? As someone that is obsessed with everything visual, I definitely think this works. If these ladies were doing the same shows but were wearing boring jeans and a tee shirt (or worse, something frumpy), their programs just wouldn't be the same.

Be Featured on Snapshot Fashion

Attention fashionistas!!! I remember when I initially started Snapshot Fashion (over five years ago) a large portion of the blog was dedicated to the style of my readers. I loved seeing fashion from around the world, and how style changes from region to region. I definitely want to get back in the swing of posting outfits from my readers. You don't have to be a fellow fashion blogger to take part in this...so please don't feel intimidated or worried that you don't have your own blog.

Snapshot Fashion requests that if you submit a photo please make sure to include:
1) your name
2) city/state (or country if you are from outside of the U.S.)
3) the stores where you got the items that make up your outfit.

*I cannot promise that all photos sent in will be featured on the Snapshot Fashion website.

Snapshot Fashion: What Do You Want To See?

Hello lovely readers! I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend. The last few days have been great for me...minus the insanely hot and humid heat here in NYC. My husband took some days off of work, our friend is visiting from California, and we have just been making the most out of living in NYC. Today we're heading to Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. I cannot wait to dig in to a goodwich ice cream sandwich from The Good Batch. It is one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life (and I have been dreaming about it ever since I had one a month and a half ago). It will make the heat so much more bearable. After a fun lunch there we're going to head to Union Square for a free (and fancy) wine tasting. Such a fun afternoon in store! What are your plans??? Anything fun?

I wanted to reach out to all of you to get your opinion. What would you all like to see in the future on Snapshot Fashion? Are there certain posts you like to see more than others? Do you like to read about celebrity fashion? Do you prefer to see my personal style? Do you enjoy all of my sale updates? Let me know what you like...and even what you don't care for. Maybe there is a specific type of post that I don't normally do that you would enjoy reading. Let me know!!! No matter what your opinion is, I'd love to hear it!

I hope you all have a great weekend...and don't forget to slather on that SPF!!! That sun is intense.

*Snapshot Fashion on Instagram*

I hope you all have been having a great week and a fun 4th of July!!! The last week or so has been rather hectic for me. Running around NYC, going to parades, and having my friend visit from California...it's been kind of crazy! Not that I'm complaining. I have been updating my Instagram even more than my blog (I know, I know...bad blogger). Make sure you follow along on my Instagram to stay up to speed with me.

Here are some highlights from my week...

I have the cutest dog in the entire world...seriously.

I can't even take this crazy humidity we have been having in NYC anymore. I do my hair in the morning, walk outside, and then it ends up looking like THIS! Why do I even bother???

My husband makes the best dinners ever!!!

Peace, love, and equality. Fun times spent at the Pride Parade.

My friend Christina is visiting for the week!!! This morning we spent some quality time in Central Park.

Be sure to follow along @snapshotfashion.

If you are on Instagram, let me know your name on your account so I can follow along your page as well!

Sassy Summer Dresses

I have to be honest with you. I HATE SUMMER. When I think of summer I think of sweating from the heat, my hair frizzing because it is so humid, and my body (especially my hands) breaking out in a heat rash. All of this makes me very unhappy. The weather we have been having lately is simply unbearable and my air conditioner has become my new best friend.

There is ONE good thing about summer time: pretty summer dresses! No matter what your price point is, there is something adorable out there for everyone. I wear dresses all summer long. I actually don't even own a pair of shorts (but I think I need to pick up a pair soon for those super casual days). What I love about a dress is that it is so easy...no nonsense. You just throw it on and go!

I put together a list of my favorite summer dresses at three different price points: under $100, under $50, and under $20. So there is no excuse for not looking cute this summer!
