Bring on Spring

Now that February is practically over I'm constantly thinking of springtime. Only a few more weeks until spring is officially here (I know this because my brithday is also on the first day of spring: March 20th)...but with all the cold and snow yet to come I need a little bit of visual motivation to get my mind there. These dresses seem to do the trick!

Praline Dress available at Shabby Apple- $82

Quilted Jacquard Flare Dress available at LOFT- $79.50

Swing Dress in Retro Floral Print available at ASOS- $46

Fit & Flare Sundress available at Gap- $59.95

I want every single one of them for the spring season. Which ones are your favorite???

Emmy Awards- What I Hope They Wear

This morning I heard that the Emmy Awards are on tonight. How didn't I know this? It's been a busy week (again) and let me just say that I'm so happy that I found out about this when I did. Now I know what I'll be doing tonight. Nothing puts a smile on my face more than celebrities, beautiful dresses, and Neil Patrick Harris!

So there are two huge questions on everyone's minds about tonight's festivities:
1) Who will win?
2) What will they be wearing?

Now it's my turn to show you what I hope they will be wearing. Let's see if I get any of them right tonight.

Kerry Washington in Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture

Claire Danes in Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen Spring 2014 Ready-To-Wear

Cobie Smulders Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture

Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear

What do you think of my picks? I have to admit, I'm head over heels obsessed with the hot pink Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture gown. If I was at the awards I would totally be rocking that dress.

I'm a little sad that more of the shows I watch weren't nominated...but I'm so excited to see that some of my favorites were (The Big Bang Theory, Girls, and Modern Family). Who will you be cheering on?

Sassy Summer Dresses

I have to be honest with you. I HATE SUMMER. When I think of summer I think of sweating from the heat, my hair frizzing because it is so humid, and my body (especially my hands) breaking out in a heat rash. All of this makes me very unhappy. The weather we have been having lately is simply unbearable and my air conditioner has become my new best friend.

There is ONE good thing about summer time: pretty summer dresses! No matter what your price point is, there is something adorable out there for everyone. I wear dresses all summer long. I actually don't even own a pair of shorts (but I think I need to pick up a pair soon for those super casual days). What I love about a dress is that it is so easy...no nonsense. You just throw it on and go!

I put together a list of my favorite summer dresses at three different price points: under $100, under $50, and under $20. So there is no excuse for not looking cute this summer!

2) Graphic Printed Swing Dress available at Muse- $118 $99

4) High/Low Hem Jersey Tank Dress by Felicity & Coco available at Nordstrom- $68

2) Horse of a Different Color Dress available at ModCloth- $49.99

summer dresses

1) Sleeveless Flared Jersey Dress available at H&M- $12.95

Which dress is your favorite? I love them all...and think I need to make some room in my closet for some new pieces.

HAPPY SHOPPING!!!

Emmy Awards- What I Hope They Wear

One of the fun things about watching the red carpet before award shows is guessing what my favorite stars will be wearing. I do think that this year there will be pops of color, sparkles, and bold designs. Here are the dress I would love to see on the red carpet this Sunday.

I would love it if Zooey Deschanel wore this Christian Dior dress from their Fall 2012 Couture Collection. I think if I were to dress for the awards and could wear any dress in the world...it would be this one. It's so flattering and fun. Do you see that pop of hot pink? It's so quirky...like Zooey.

I would be so happy to see Julie Bowen in this emerald Elie Saab dress from Fall 2012 Ready To Wear. The color would look so amazing against her skin tone and blonde hair. She would be so stunning in this.

I adore Giuliana Rancic and I am always looking forward to see what the E! Red Carpet host will be wearing. She would look so fabulous in this Erin Fetherston Fall 2012 Ready To Wear dress. She would look so statuesque...like a goddess...don't you agree???

Seems like a lot of funny ladies never seem to get their award show look spot on. Kristen Wiig is one of these girls. I love her to death...but seems as though she either just tries to hard or not hard enough. I think this Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 Ready To Wear dress would be so perfect for her. It's fun and bold like her, and she won't have to worry about accessories with it...because the dress speaks for itself.

Julianna Margulies would be so stunning in this J. Mendel dress from Fall 2012 Ready To Wear. The color would set her apart from the rest and we'd be talking about this dress for weeks.

What are your thoughts about my picks? Are there any designs or colors that you are hoping show up at the Emmy Awards?

Don't forget that on Sunday, September 23rd from 6pm-8pm eastern time I will be hosting a Google+ Hangout for E!'s Emmy Awards red carpet. If you are interested please email me so I can get you on the list!

Red Dresses For The Holidays

People that know me know that I can't stand country music. But, when it comes to fashion I often am looking to Taylor Swift for inspiration. I just love her wardrobe...especially her amazing cocktail dresses. Taylor was recently spotted wearing this adorable red strapless dress to a CMT bash. She kept her look very simple and didn't go overboard with accessories. She let the bold red in her dress (and lips) be the star of the party!

I love the idea of wearing a red frock for the holidays. It's actually something I do not have in my wardrobe. Can you believe that? I have so many little black dresses...I have to add in a little red dress to the mix. It's such a great look for Christmas or New Year's Eve parties, making you stand out in the crowd. Who doesn't love a little attention???

Here are some of my favorite red dresses...and if you are also in need of a great red dress (or would just love another one) I strongly suggest incorporating these looks into your party style---

Dreamy Dresses

Lately it seems as though all I have been wearing is dresses. This is probably because I don't own any shorts except for gym shorts (crazy I know!). Maybe also because dresses have to be the easiest thing to wear. Just throw one on and you look great! Very little effort is needed.

Over the last few weeks here it's been 90-100+ degrees (often with a ridiculous amount of humidity)...so even when I put a dress on I feel gross. Just not pretty. One thing my wardrobe is definitely lacking is "dreamy dresses". Dresses that when you put them on feel girlie and pretty and like a princess. When I think of dreamy dresses I instantly think of ruffles, chiffon, and flowy designs.

Here are some of my favorite dreamy dresses out there right now. I really need to get on the ball and start filling my closet with these beautiful frocks.

Pleated Ruffle Dress- Forever 21- $27.80

Claudia Halter Dress- J. Crew- $385

Tiered Asymmetrical Dress- Forever 21- $29.80

Paisley Handkerchief Dress- Forever 21- $29.80

Being Girlie

Wearing a dress doesn't mean you have to be all dressed up. I often will throw on a casual frock along with some thick tights and boots, and I find myself feeling even more comfortable than when I wear jeans and a tshirt. I find it really annoying when girls tell me that they don't wear dresses. You don't have to be in a frilly dress to show some femininity. I found some adorable (and comfortable) dresses that all of my readers have to know about. Even if dresses are new to your wardrobe, these eight dresses are great ones to get you started.

How do you feel about casual dresses? Do you like to wear them?

Prom 2010

It's that time of year again...time for teens to dress up like Cinderella, get all made up, schedule a hair appointment, and book that limo. That's right, prom season is upon us! If you are heading to prom this spring Snapshot Fashion has some adorable prom dresses picked out for you. I have to admit, some of these dresses are so cute I'd wear them now (even though my senior prom was 11 years ago...*sigh*).

Wearing a black and/or white look is always in style. I remember my prom dress was black...and when I look back at my prom pictures I'm not at all embarrassed by my dress.

We've picked out some adorable dresses for girls with curves. I am so in love with the multi-hued purple dress (bottom row, center).

Long gowns are still very much in style too. Here are some dresses that are beyond elegant.

Every time I think of PROM I have to think of Molly Ringwald in Pretty In Pink.

If you are going to prom this year what will you wear?
If you need more help in selecting a dress contact Snapshot Fashion and we'll help you out! Consider us your personal stylist.  :-)

Dresses @ Roxy

Typically when I think of apparel from Roxy I tend to think of items that would be worn in the snow or surf. Who would have known that they have such BEAUTIFUL dresses? Here are some of my favorites---

A tube dress with a tropical print like this is perfect for the boardwalk or the nightclub.

Simple in stripes...this dress is right up my alley. Throw on this frock for a look that is effortlessly chic.
This bold party dress is the perfect piece to wear for a summer lunch date or cocktail party. Wearing a dress this bold will guarantee all eyes on you!

*Anthropologie Has My Heart*

While I was scrolling through the pages of Anthropologie's website I had to take some extra time to browse my favorite section...DRESSES. Now you have to understand, I always love Anthropologie's dresses...always so beautiful in color and design. But my little secret is...I don't own any frocks from there. Not a one. I just love looking at them. To be honest they are just a little out of my price range. The few expensive dresses I have (and yes, I do have a couple that were quite pricey...even a few designer duds) I didn't pay full price for. Some I got super cheap...and some even for free (thank-you Gilt). But needless to say, currently I can't be throwing $200-$300 around on a bright and bold dress that I will only wear a couple of times. But there is no harm in looking, right?

Here are my current lusts---

Lotus Awakening Dress- I love the shape of this one. Kinda reminds me of the Jetsons. That cartoon was always a favorite of mine.

Woven Chroma Dress- The colors in this dress couldn't be more bold. So fun and summery!

Ablaze Dress- This frock is perfect for the office. Pair it with a bold cardigan and some heels...and you'll look like one stylish professional.

Longing-For-Yellow Dress- Okay, so the price tag on this one is a bit more affordable...and in my mind it is the look of it is PERFECTION. I have a few weddings to go to this spring/summer and this dress would be perfect to wear to them, don't you think? I just might have to get it!!!

Looks for Less

I thought it would be fun to put together a looks for less post that shows dresses that would be perfect for your upcoming holiday parties...but that are also very budget friendly. We're talking under $50! Sounds impossible right? You'd be surprised by how many affordable (and very pretty) dresses there are out there. So if you are like myself and love to buy new dresses for parties but hate spending lots of money on dresses that you rarely wear this post is for you!

Click on the collage below to see where you can purchase these items.

Do you think you'll be saving some money this year and buy a dress that is fairly inexpensive? Or do you love splurging on designer cocktail dresses?

Holiday Dresses

I don't know about you, but in the next two months I have a number of holiday parties going on. Having the right dress for work parties, family parties, and other various events is key! So what are the trends for the season? Snapshot Fashion has concentrated on three categories: very bold colors, vintage inspired, and the little black dress.

Which style dress do you think you'll be wearing to your next cocktail party?
