Beautiful Beacon Hill

This past weekend was so lovely. My husband and I took a much needed getaway out of NYC...and to Boston. Even though I got sick when I was there (and I'm still nursing a terrible head cold), I had a great time wandering around the city, taking in all of the amazing architecture, eating some incredible food, and even meeting up with my cousin and her husband. Such a great time!

My husband snapped these photos of me while walking around Beacon Hill. I think this neighborhood was my favorite in all of Boston. The homes there were a dream. So charming!

Boston Bound

Hey everyone! After a crazy week (both with work and at home), my husband and I are getting ready for a mini-trip to Boston this weekend. We're taking the train up on Friday morning and will be heading back to NYC on Sunday. If you know of anything that I should see and do...let me know! I have only been there once or twice when I was a kid, and my husband visited Boston once while in college. Right now we're planning on doing a lot of exploring, shopping, eating, and photo taking. My cousin and her husband live just outside of Boston, so we're hoping to see them this weekend for dinner and/or drinks.

Please be sure to let me know your favorite restaurants, shops, neighborhoods...as any and all tips and recommendations are appreciated. And if you are in the area, be sure to let me know! I'd love to meet up while I'm in town!

I'll be sure to do a post (or two) after I get back...but in the meantime be sure you are following along my Instagram to keep up with my adventures!

*Wedding Weekend*

So you may remember a few months back when I was asking for your help to pick out a bridesmaid dress for my friend Holly's wedding. After having it sit in my closet for months I finally get to wear it this weekend!!! I can't tell you how tempted I was to wear it, but I know how clumsy and messy I can be. I could only imagine ripping it or spilling something on myself...so I resisted!

Today my husband and I are heading to the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. This afternoon we'll be going on a wine tasting...which I am so excited for! I have never been on one. Hanging out with friends and enjoying some yummy wine??? Sounds like an ideal afternoon to me! Saturday during the day we'll have the morning/early afternoon to ourselves. Not really sure what we'll do (we aren't very outdoorsy or into nature/hiking)...but will probably do some sightseeing and check out the surrounding areas. Then Saturday night is the big event!!! I'm just so overjoyed for her...and let's hope I can hold back the tears (which is rather doubtful since I cry at every episode of My Fair Wedding).

If you want to follow along on my wedding weekend adventures, be sure to follow my instagram! I'll be updating it regularly...as long as there is cell reception up there!

DC- A Sneak Peak

So this past weekend I headed down to Washington DC for an overnight getaway. Even though the the trip didn't really go as planned (at all), I definitely would love to go back. I didn't realize that DC was such a beautiful city. The architecture reminded me of buildings I have seen in Europe.

Two things that really surprised me:
1) The city streets were SO EMPTY! There was hardly any traffic, and no crowds at all. Such a quiet city...who knew!?!
2) This city is so clean. We must have walked ten miles all over the city (no lie)...and I did not see any graffiti at all.

Have you been to DC in the past? What were some of your favorite places to visit while in town?

Heading To DC Next Week

Next week at this time my husband and I will be heading down to DC for a little mini-getaway. I've lived so close to DC all of my life...yet I have never been there before. Crazy, I know! The last time my husband was there was when he was in grade school. So this will be a fun little adventure.

I saw an amazing deal via LivingSocial for a hotel so I knew I had to purchase it. As of now we know that we are going to be checking out the National Mall, Museum of American History, and have dinner reservations at Jaleo (since we simply love José Andrés). We'll only be in town overnight...but I wanted to reach out to my readers to see if any of you have suggestions of things we must see or do. Please feel free to leave me a comment or write me an email. I have been trying to do my research on DC because I hate going to a new city without a game plan. I would love to hear your suggestions!

P.S. I will definitely be posting some of my pictures after our trip. So stay tuned!  :-)
