Cool in Kaftans

My new favorite item for the summer has to be a flowing kaftan. It's perfect to wear to the beach as a cover up, over jeans for a casual vibe, or paired with some sexy sandals for an evening look. No matter how you wear it you'll look so chic and it's such an easy look to pull together. No effort and all style!

Floral + Pleather

tunic: Zara thrifted at Crossroads Trading Co./pleather pants: H&M/necklace: Baublebar/boots: Dr. Martens

Today I decided to do something a little crazy and out of the ordinary...wear pants! I absolutely love my tights and live in skirts and dresses (yes, even on the weekends). I guess I was feeling a little crazy today. Maybe because it is February...maybe because of the snowstorm on the horizon...maybe because of all of the smoke I breathed in yesterday...who knows!?!?

I really love this new tunic (or maybe it is a shrunken dress?) that I picked up at Crossroads Trading Co. I always have the best luck there. Speaking of Crossroads, I really need to get there very soon. My closet is overflowing and I need to get rid of some stuff (AKA make room for some new clothing).

She & Him

So today is a big day. My husband (Chris) is making his first official appearance in an outfit post. He's been seen on the blog here and there over the years, and is all over my instagram feed. Typically he's behind the scenes taking my photos...but I thought it would be fun to bring him into the mix of Snapshot Fashion's style posts.

shirt: Brooklyn Industries (similar)/jeans: Levi's/leather jacket: Levi's/boots: Dr. Martens

I think this is my new favorite dress. It's so light and comfy...and isn't the print just lovely?!

One thing the two of us agree on is that we love Brooklyn Industries. Even though about 1/4 of my wardrobe is probably from that store, I think it would be safe to say the same for my husband.

If you are loving these looks be sure to stop by Brooklyn Industries today where they are having a mega sale. They are taking an extra 40% off of sale styles and 25% off of full price graphic tees and bags. The sale is online and in the store...but it ends today, so don't wait!

So everyone please give Chris a warm welcome...as I'm sure you'll be seeing much more of him on Snapshot Fashion in the future.

Beautiful Beacon Hill

This past weekend was so lovely. My husband and I took a much needed getaway out of NYC...and to Boston. Even though I got sick when I was there (and I'm still nursing a terrible head cold), I had a great time wandering around the city, taking in all of the amazing architecture, eating some incredible food, and even meeting up with my cousin and her husband. Such a great time!

My husband snapped these photos of me while walking around Beacon Hill. I think this neighborhood was my favorite in all of Boston. The homes there were a dream. So charming!

Look of the Day- When Summer Meets Autumn

Look of the Day

1) Carla Crossbody available at Banana Republic- $69.50 $52
2) Finn Tank available at Anthropologie- $98
4) 1969 High-Rise Skinny Skimmer Jeans available at Gap- $69.95
5) Snakeskin Pattern Leather Pumps available at Zara- $119

Not that I'm complaining...but we haven't really had much summer weather yet. So when it comes to deciding what to wear, I've been so clueless lately. The middle of the day is in the low 80s...but the evenings have been in the low 60s. What to wear, what to wear!?!?! I don't know about you all, but the crisp evenings makes me want to start breaking out some autumn inspired looks. A perfect way to do this is simply with colors. Mixing light denim (super summery) with some navy pumps (hello autumn!) is a great way to transition and get ready for my favorite season. Fall just never really lasts long enough, does it? *sigh*

From The Rooftops, Shout It Out

Well, hello springtime!!! The sunshine is here!!! This has me happy beyond belief. I'm up on our rooftop enjoying the beautiful views of Brooklyn and NYC. I'll be even happier later on this week when I jet off to San Francisco. It will be my first visit to California, and even though it will only be for a few days I'm so excited! My husband lived there for three years (many, many moons ago)...and is so excited to show me around his second favorite city.

The next time I'm looking for that perfect dress I know I'll be getting it from eShaki. Have you heard of them? Three words: eShakti is amazing. Seriously. I have never had a dress that fit so perfectly. They even take custom measurements.

What I love most about eShakti is that they let you pick and choose from so many options to have your item exactly as you want it. For instance, I got to pick the length of this dress, the neckline, the style of sleeve, and even added pockets to it (dresses with pockets are my favorite). I absolutely love the idea of making the dress my own. It almost made me feel like I was the designer.

*adorable sash*

Look of the Day- Spring Is In Bloom

Look of the Day

1) Zoe Stud Earrings available at Shabby Apple- $17
2) Legend & Song Dutch Wax Pili Dress available at Anthropologie- $288
3) Mini City Bag available at Zara- $79.90
4) Must-Have Platform Sandals available at Forever 21- $32.80

The sun has been shining, and I'm finally able to shed two or three layers of clothing without freezing. Before you know it spring will be here. I should know...my birthday is the first day of spring (March 20th).

Nothing screams spring time to me more than dresses. Granted, I wear dresses all the time. Yep, even through the Polar Vortex. But there is something about dresses like the adorable one I have shown here that shows that spring is in bloom. The bright colors, the fabulous bow, the loud print...it's like it is shouting: SPRING IS (almost) HERE!

This Weekend Is Okay

Dear Brooklyn, over the last few months I'm falling more and more in love with you. Every time I wander down a street I saw to myself, I need to take photos here. Just too many beautiful backdrops in my urban oasis. I can't wait to share more with you all!

How's your weekend going? Mine is okay. Actually, I lie. It's pretty great so far. This afternoon we are probably going to hit up Mimosa Saturday at Brooklyn Industries, which I told you all about yesterday. And tonight we're heading to the East Village to see Bayside! The Musical! Yep, it's a Saved by the Bell parody! Some friends of ours saw it last week and said it was hilarious. We got some half price tickets via Living Social...and I'm so ready for a night of laughter. I'm kind of bummed I couldn't get tickets for next weekend. The real Mr. Belding is starring in it! But it sold out fast. Oh well...that's okay.

I'm definitely okay with this heatwave we're having (not sure if 40s and 50s are considered a heatwave...but in February here in NYC I'm going to say it is!). Jump if you are ready to spring into spring!!!
