Love Campaign at KRISTINIT

One thing I really enjoy about writing for this blog is getting email from young designers. I recently heard from Kristina Lenss of Kristinit. Her collection is quite beautiful, and I was really impressed. I felt that many of my readers would be very interested in checking out her beautiful designs. She is really making quite a buzz in the fashion industry. Kristinit was named Lucky Magazine's "One to Watch" designer and has also been featured in Teen Vogue, OK Magazine, Style.com, Nylon, Agenda Magazine, and Apparel News. Celebrity clients include Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Deshanel, Bobbie Thomas, Finola Hughes, and Julia Anderson.

KRISTINIT has just introduced their LOVE campaign for this fall. Its mission: a holistic approach to high fashion, one that links social responsibility, sustainable fabrics and great design.

"The LOVE Campaign is inspired by an integrated approach to designing and manufacturing a high fashion collection" says Kristina Lenss, designer of Kristinit. "This collection is about complementing fashion with sustainability — without sacrificing style."

Through collaboration with international design consultant ZoĆ« Melo, custom lace pieces handmade by artisan weavers in Brazil are one of the line’s most swoon-worthy details. As a neckline Cameo, the lace is a seductive contrast to the simple black dress, but it becomes fairy-tale sweet on a princess-line bodice.

"I feel really honored to be working with this group of women weavers," says Lenss. "Their traditional lace-making methods represent what a beautiful piece of clothing should embody: timelessness, love, and skill. Also, their work has an heirloom quality that can only be achieved when something is made by hand." This partnership supports fair trade and links women and beauty across the globe.

This marriage of traditional craftsmanship and trend-forward design is set against the backdrop of the line’s devotion to nature: from design inspiration to fabric selection to construction. Kristinit continues to manufacture locally in Los Angeles, minimizing pollution and supporting the local economy.
