My Weekend Recap

I was lucky enough to have a three day weekend this past weekend and it was full of fun, fashion, friends, and food. I wanted to share some of my highlights with all of you!

~Did you hear, ombre is here to stay! This makes me so happy because I just made an appointment to get my hair done ombre. I'm soooooo excited for this new look! I have to wait until July 10th...but, once I get it done I can't wait to show you all. Get ready for photos.

~I ate so much great food this past weekend. If you are in the North Williamsburg/Greenpoint area be sure to check out: Sweetgreen (they have the best salads), The Bounty (an amazing $1 oyster happy hour), and A+ Lollipop (bubble tea!!!).

~I watched a great movie this weekend. Have you all seen Celeste and Jesse Forever? My husband and I loved it! Super funny, very touching (I teared up a few times), and brilliantly shot. Check it out.

~I had a possible celebrity sighting on my block earlier today while walking my dog. I'm 99% sure I walked by supermodel Lindsey Wixson. If it wasn't her, she definitely has a doppelganger walking around Brooklyn.
How was your weekend? Tell me all about it!

My McCarren Park

dress- Romeo & Juliet Couture thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co./ wedge sandals- Bakers/ fringe purse- H&M

I'm not a nature girl at all. Dirt, bugs, allergies...I hate it all. But I have to say, I love that I live near a park while living in a city. Actually, now that I think of it I always have had a park in my backyard while in NYC. When we lived in the East Village we had Tompkins Square Park, when we lived in the Upper East Side we had Central Park, and now that we are in North Williamsburg we have McCarren Park which I love so much! It's full or pretty flowers, has a great farmer's market, and Rocko's favorite dog run. It's our little part of nature that we need in this concrete jungle.

Rocko is loving this warm and sunny weather.

Isn't this dress the cutest? I picked it up at Crossroads Trading Co. the other week. Can you believe that this adorable scuba swing dress was marked down to $6??? SIX DOLLARS! I love that store. I always have such luck there picking up great second hand finds!

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday! Get out there and enjoy it!

Swans Crossing

Truth be told, I have been wanting to share this fabulous swan dress with you all for a while. But I have been wanting to use Swans Crossing as a title for this post for even longer. If you didn't watch the teen soap Swans Crossing in the early 90's I don't think we can be friends any longer. Seriously.

swan printed dress (same style/different print): Brooklyn Industries/ oxfords (same style/different color): Kayleen by Los Angeles available at ModCloth/ necklace: gift/ lipstick: Russian Red by MAC

Besides dodging my allergies left and right (they are so bad this year!), I'm planning on meeting up with my little cousin who is visiting his girlfriend in town tonight, off to spend my Sunday with the in-laws in Long Island, and then just relaxing at home on my Monday off.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

When Doves Cry

The weekend is here, and so is the warmer weather! It's about time I get outside and enjoy some sunshine! It's only 11am and I have already gone to the gym, wandered around my neighborhood taking photos, went with my husband and dog to the dog park, and hit up the local farmers market. Next on deck, out to lunch.

dress- H&M (but I got it for $10 on sale in the store!)
coat- H&M
belt- H&M
necklace- gift
booties- Urban Outfitters

Yes, I know I have been talking about the weather a lot on here lately...but when you have had the kind of terrible winter we have had here in NYC you are doing either one of two things: complaining about the freezing cold, or bragging about the slightly warmer weather (since when is 50 warm?).

What are your weekend plans? How do you like enjoying the warmer weather (and if it's not warming up by where you are, I apologize for rubbing it in!)?

Ice Cream Monsters

I've been meaning to take photos here since we moved to Brooklyn. This amazing mural is across the street from our apartment building...and I can't get enough of it! Monsters, ice cream, and the color pink...love love love it. One thing about Brooklyn that I do love is all of the street art. Hopefully when the weather gets a bit nicer I'll be posting more and more of it here.

Today, with the wind chill the temperature was about 5 degrees when we took these photos. Brrrrrr!!! We rain outside, snapped away, and ran back in. Basically, I just wanted to show you all one of my new coats! I needed a new one desperately. The purple coat which I have featured on here a number of times (see here, and here) has broken. The stupid zipper broke two times on me this week...and now I can't even open it. I've had it for about 5 or 6 years now...and have worn it to death. So yesterday I went coat shopping. Not an easy task since many of the stores have their spring clothing out already. But Zara had some amazing deals on their winter outerwear. I grabbed two coats there, both on sale! This houndstooth beauty was only $49.99 (which was half off of the original price).

tights- H&M
scarf- gift from my parents
hat- Urban Outfitters

You might be noticing that my bangs are looking a little different. I decided to switch things up a bit and let my blunt bangs grow out. So last weekend I went to the cutest hair salon down the street from me called Head Chop and had my blunt bangs turned in to side swept bangs...for a smoother transition.

My favorite and most useful gift this Christmas has to be these Hunter boots (in the shade of lipstick). First off, they are adorable. Secondly, with this insane weather we have been having lately I'm wearing them all the time.

Rocko even has booties he needs to wear. With the amount of salt that gets dumped on the streets and sidewalks he cries out in pain if he doesn't have them on. Or maybe he is just being a puppy fashionista!

Today we're suppose to be getting another inch of snow (ugh!) and more brutal cold next week. I seriously can't take this weather much longer. BRING ON SPRING!!! My trip to San Francisco at the end of March can't get here soon enough.

What are your plans this weekend???
