Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week we're featuring one of my daily reads...my favorite blog from Hawaii--- elisharon. Sharon from elisharon is always showing us her fabulous style, delicious looking local food, and tons of DIY.

Why did you start blogging?
I couldn't answer this question on my own, because I forgot! I asked a couple friends and they answered: “I want. I need. I have”. Ha ha! Then it all came back to me. I wanted a blog that showed the things I wanted, NEEDED.. and then purchased. I guess that theme still lingers, but my blog is also so much more than that now. I wouldn't call it a “fashion blog”… but more of a personal/lifestyle blog. I blog about things I love, like, hate, want to try, and everything under the big sunny skies of Maui! I didn't think my blog would really take off the way it has. I've connected with a lot of amazing people. Looking forward to where this year will take me and my little blog. :)

How would you describe your personal style?
I don’t like to define my personal style, because it’s always changing. I love trying anything and everything. If it works on me, then great. If not, I'll ditch it, then I move on. I like experimenting with fashion. It’s one of the best ways of self expression. And for those that know me in “real life”, I truly do love expressing myself! Well, I guess if I did have to describe my style, I’d sum it up with one word; Eclectic.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Carrie Bradshaw. Talk about Eclecticism, she was beaming with it! I love that. How amazing would it be to own all those designer duds she sported throughout the series!? I also love and will always love her closet! AMAZING!

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
No one really. Like I said earlier… fashion is about self-expression, so to each his/her own. Ooooo wait… I actually do have someone in mind. It would have to be one of my best friends, Wendy. I’m sure if given the opportunity, she’d love to get a wardrobe makeover too. Wendy doesn’t have “bad style”. She’s a little hottie when she gets dolled up, but she’s also a busy mom of two and fashion/style is probably one of the last things on her mind. Wendy once told me that when she was in high school she was Wet Seal's “Number ONE shopper”. Hee hee.

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Embrace your individual style and although it’s always fun to follow trends, don’t follow them blindly. Have fun with fashion and don't take it too seriously.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week Snapshot Fashion is featuring a very stylish female from Australia, Le Blog de Sushi. I love peering inside her closet...her wardrobe is truely amazing and inspiring.

Why did you start blogging?
I had been uploading a few outfit photo on Chictopia and Livejournal but found these kind of communities didn't give me enough freedom. What I really wanted was my own blog where I could set out everything exactly to my liking and write about other things as well, such as what was inspiring me, shopping, outings and projects I have been working on.

How would you describe your personal style?
Feminine, vintage-inspired and whimsical.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
It would be the Cherry Blossom Girl's wardrobe. She has such beautiful, pretty clothing and her shoes and bags are to die for.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
My brother!

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Wear things that suit your shape and colouring.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week's fashion blogger is someone that I have been following for some time now. She is a beautiful model and very talented photographer....her name is Zanita. She's always wearing the most interesting outfits, photographing her fellow model friends, and keeping us up to date with images from her modeling career.

Why did you start blogging?
Out of boredom really, and the suggestion of a friend who introduced me to other blogs. Seemed like the perfect hobby for me, cataloguing my ideas about fashion.

How would you describe your personal style?
At the moment all I want to wear is oversized casual pieces and plenty of man-style, shirts and mens jeans, with plimsoles.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Chloe Sevigny, her style is so quirky, it shows personality. I love her range for Opening Ceremony.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
Rihanna or Christina Aguilera. They are so hit and miss, Rihanna over accessorizes constantly and Christina wears sooooo much make-up. Its a trashy result.

If you could give one fashoin tip to anyone, what would it be?
Don't try to emulate anyone else, be creative in your own way.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

Today Snapshot Fashion is featuring Starr from A Thought Is The Blossom. I love her vintage style, fabulous finds, and amazing photoshoots she does with her friends. Now let's take a moment to get to know Starr a little bit better---

Why did you start blogging?
It all started when I found (and feel in love with) a vintage shop called Bittersweet Styles through Myspace. I had always been curious about vintage, but this was the first online shop I'd ever seen. Eventually I found Bleubird, Mousevox, Twitch, and Spanish Moss and decided I wanted to start my own. It wasn't until I found Rhiannon and Jennifer from Liebemarlene and Sally Jane that I realized how great of a marketing tool a blog could be. Little did I know it was about to change my whole world! Blogging has been one of those most eye opening experiences for me. It's allowed me to evolve into the women I wanted to be, and it's challenged me to be much more creative than I ever could have dreamed!

How would you describe your personal style?
Thrifty! It's funny that in high school I played basketball and was a jeans and tshirt kind of gal because now my style is so girlie and feminine. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes, and I'll rarely buy anything if it's new. It's strictly thrift stores and estate sales for me! I guess I take a lot of pleasure from the hunt.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Leith Clark! Because I love everything she puts on. What an inspiration she is to me and my style!

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
Oh man, trying to think of one person is tough, but I guess the one thing that bothers me the most is seeing brands like Hollister and Abercrombie (pretty much anything with a label). I don't mean to offend anyone who does wear those things, I just think it's a uncreative. People should try to challenge themselves more! I wish jeans and tshirts would become a thing of the past and women would wear pretty dresses and hats everyday like they used to! Here's to dreaming.

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Confidence is the best accessory. I know that's kind of cheesy, but it's true. If you feel good in what your wearing your mood will radiate, I promise!

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week our Fashion Blogger of the Week is Tramanh from Phi Style. Her site is full of her amazing personal style, fun photoshoots, planning of her wedding, and so much more. Let's take a moment to meet Tramanh---

Why did you start blogging?
I had been a personal/lifestyle blogger for years and a friend who had a style blog encouraged me to make one too.

How would you describe your personal style?
A tenuous line between effortless and high-maintenance.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Mary-Kate Olsen. She has such a range of casuals and formals, yet all cohesive and well-balanced. I also like that it's not overly girly, not overly sexy, not overly androgynous, not overly casual.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
Britney. Why are you wearing that? =(

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Dress with a purpose, but look effortless.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

You may remember the first week that Fashion Blogger of the Week was issued I featured Dylana from Nana in Wonderland...well today I'm featuring her sister Natalie from Natalie Off Duty. I have been following Natalie's blog for quite some time now. She is so effortlessly chic and always looks so stylish. I am always looking forward to see what she will be wearing next! Let's take a moment and meet Natalie---

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to share my own personal style with others are the world. The whole world of blogging really opened my eyes to the lifestyles of people from every corner of the world and I was fascinated.

How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is kind of boyish with a little feminine touch. I like classic pieces like blazers and button-ups, but I do love really beautiful dresses. Much of my wardrobe is vintage which makes getting dressed that much more fun.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
I would raid Daria Werbowy's closet. It looks like a total mess filled with vintage and designer. I'm sure I'd find some really unique pieces!

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
I'd love to give Victoria Beckham a wardrobe makeover. I'd love to see what she looks like without the super tights dresses and so much exposed skin. I'd like to see her in David's clothes, a big blazer and trousers.

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Dress for your body-type and don't just wear the latest trends. You have to be comfortable or you'll ruin your day!

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week's featured fashion blogger is Nubia's Nonsense. I've had the pleasure of meeting Nubia twice and she is the sweetest girl. She has a very eclectic style and isn't afraid of stepping outside the box...and I love that!

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging for fun, almost as an outfit diary. I always admired other blogs as well and thought it would be fun to start my own. It’s very expressive and artistic to me. You meet great individuals through blogging as well and it’s an immense amount of inspiration being thrown all over the place. I find it very refreshing. I started blogging so I can inspire others in the ways I’ve been inspired, as well as having something to look back on one day for my own personal memories.

How would you describe your personal style?
My style is very eclectic and all over the place. One day I’m preppy. The next I’m living in the 80’s, the next I’m bohemian. I don’t really place myself in any sort of category. I dress myself according to the mood I wake up in or sometimes according to what’s in my closet instead of my dirty hamper, haha.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
This is a tough question, I think at this certain moment I would raid Rihanna’s closet. I think she always looks so fierce and funky. I’ve seen so many different looks on her that I think it would be super fun to go through her closet and play dress up. She’s very creative and well put together.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
I can’t really think of anyone honestly. I think of fashion as a personal choice as of self expression and I wouldn’t want to force anyone to be something that they’re not. I wouldn’t mind giving a girl friend or 2 some tips though but they think I’m nuts anyway! I like them just the way they are.

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
I think it would be to play more with accessories. A lot of times I have friends who think their outfits are dull or they feel like something is missing. Accessories can do A LOT to an outfit.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

One of the first fashion sites I think I ever started reading was We Wear Things. So when Issa agreed to an interview I was beyond pleased.

Why did you start blogging?
After posting on Fabsugar for awhile, a few people spurred the idea to start up a blog. So I did! I thought it would be a good creative outlet.. away from the 'real world'. And it's been fantastic. Although I haven't been able to keep up with it as often as I like these days.

How would you describe your personal style?
Oh hard to explain...sometimes I feel so sporadic, but I'd say it's a bit modern yet classic.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Sarah Jessica Parker...I'm sure there is more than enough couture in there for me to play with.. plus she looks tiny...maybe I could actually fit into things.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
Hard one! All my friends are fabulously dressed. If I could makeover my coworkers (all guys) I would totally do it.

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Always dress for yourself! Wearing trends that don't fit your look or your body won't do you any favors.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week I am excited to feature one of my favorite bloggers, CafƩ Fashionista. She always posts fabulous deals, amazing giveaways, splurge alternatives, and info on delicious cafes all over the world. Let's get to know Erika from CafƩ Fashionista a little bit better---

Why did you start blogging?
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. It has always been a dream of mine to have my very own magazine – a periodical that people could read and enjoy on a daily basis. Given the fact that I’m not an heiress (though I wouldn’t mind being one) and didn’t have the funds to start my own magazine on a whim; blogging was the easiest (and most affordable!) alternative. And so CafĆ© Fashionista was born.

How would you describe your personal style?
Ever changing. I don’t stick to one particular style; I basically flit from preppy to casual; rocker to bohemian; and everything in between! I dress according to my mood. The one thing that I always stay true to is comfort. If you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing, it will definitely show – and no one wants to see someone tugging at their clothes uncomfortably all day! Some of my key style staples are dark wash skinny jeans, riding boots, v-neck boyfriend tees, leggings, cardigans, and flippy skirts. I like to stick to basics that can be dressed up or down depending on how you style them, or what accessories you incorporate. In my opinion, basics are big investment pieces because they’re inexpensive but can be worn in a multitude of ways.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
This changes on an almost daily basis for me; but currently…Olivia Palermo. I find her use of over-the-top accessories to be refreshing. She’s not afraid to pair statement necklaces with tailored shorts on a sunny afternoon; or slip ostentatious cocktail rings onto multiple fingers for brunch in the city. I like that she doesn’t keep her baubles tucked away for evening use only, she wears them with pride at any time or place, forever making her sparkle. I absolutely love it!

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
No one. I honestly think that people dress to fit their personality; giving them a wardrobe makeover would just stifle their individuality and creativity. I may not agree with a certain look, or like it myself; but…to each his (or her!) own. As long as I’m happy with my wardrobe, that’s really all that matters!

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Comfort. When you're not comfortable it shows; and no one looks stylish if they're uncomfortable in what they're wearing.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week's featured fashion blogger is The Clothes Horse. I don't know about you but I want just about everything in Rebecca's closet...and her gorgeous photos make me want to move to the northwest. *sigh* Let's take a moment to learn a little bit more about this fashionista---

Why did you start blogging?
It was really a culmination of several things. I was reading a lot of blogs and I started to want to interact with the bloggers, but not as an anonymous stranger. I also had just finished a study abroad in Japan to return to rural PA and my usual business classes. I was feeling creatively starved and stranded, so my blog became my form of escapism. I was able to connect to people with similar interests online and had a reason to do the creative pursuits that I loved, like taking photographs, doodling, and even just collection sources of inspiration in one spot.

How would you describe your personal style?
Quirky romantic; I just dress for the fantasy that I would like to be living rather than how uneventful my day actually is. Velvet on a rainy day for running errands and walking the dog? Yes, and throw on some printed tights and a vintage fascinator or silver headdress too. There’s always some personal touch and usually that is in the form of a headpiece.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Sofia Coppola; I love her style and she friendly with a lot of a fantastic designers. I definitely she has a lot of pieces I would love.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
I don’t really know…maybe Leighton Meester’s on-stage/performance outfits. I like a lot of different styles and tons of people who don’t dress like me, so different looks really don’t bother me. However, I do think Miss Meester has made a number of mis-steps and knowing how well she can look and thinking of other performers that manage to look good on and off stage, I think someone needs to take her in hand!

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
Play around and have fun; we never know about things unless we try them. You never knew you loved chocolate until someone gave you a piece, so how do you know a boater/fedora/bowler won’t suit you? I think you need to be open to trying every sartorial option and just standing in front of a mirror playing with pieces, colors, and styles.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

This week we are featuring Jen from jennifhsieh. I met Jen during Fashion Week this year and she was a total sweetheart with an adorable sense of style. Let's get to know her a little better---

Why did you start blogging?
After graduating high school, my best friend moved thousands of miles away. To keep in touch, she had the idea of starting a fashion blog together since we both had an interest in it. Eventually she became too overwhelmed with school work and so I started a blog of my own since I grew to love being a part of the blogging community.   :-)

How would you describe your personal style?
I would probably describe my style as being minimalistic, comfortable, and casual. I would choose flats over heels in order to be comfortable. I choose simple, classic, and timeless pieces, mixing in a few of my favorite trends every now and then. I also tend to stick to neutral or darker colors and avoid anything too bright.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Without a doubt, Alexa Chung. I can't get over how effortlessly chic she looks all the time. I don't think I've ever caught her wearing something that would show up on a worst-dressed list! All of her outfits are always so well put together and she knows what flatters her body type. I'm pretty sure there's nothing she can't pull off.

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
This might sounds stupid, but I'm going to have to go right ahead and pick my brother. He hates clothes shopping with a passion and puts the minimal amount of effort into what he wears. He used to refuse to wear denim jeans until only two years ago, after MUCH convincing. Although he's never looked tremendously horrible, I think his wardrobe could use a update.   :-)

If you could give one fashoin tip to anyone, what would it be?
Be Comfortable. Clothes shouldn't be painful to wear since you spend the majority of your life in them. Are those 5-inch heels giving you the worst blisters you've ever experienced? Take them off and put on a pair of flats. Are you sucking in every little bit of yourself just to get into that dress you bought which was a size too small? Return the dress. Beauty should not have to be pain.

Fashion Blogger of the Week

Snapshot Fashion will now be featuring a fashion blogger every week (check us every Sunday) in this spotlight where we they will answer SF's interview questions. Hopefully you'll be introduced to some new fashion blogs this way...or maybe you'll see your favorite bloggers on here!   :-)

Starting us off this week is Dylana from Nana in Wonderland. I have adored her website and style for months now and I'm super excited that we get to feature her first.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I have always been in love with fashion since I was a little girl and my mom made clothes for me for school. I have always been a writer and I wanted a way to combine both fashion and writing together. Blogging just seemed like the natural thing to do to make my own mark in the fashion world. It has been such an awesome experience so far!

How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as quirky minimalism. I love classic and simple pieces that are timeless and practical, but I always make sure to throw something in that makes my outfit feel unique and one-of-a-kind. I may pair a chic pair of black trousers with a blouse in a funky print, a vintage belt, and a great pair of socks peeking out at the bottom. I love neutrals and sleek silhouettes offset by small bursts of bright color here and there to make a look more modern and fresh. I am very inspired by brands like ChloƩ, Celine, Stella McCartney, Dries van Noten, Pringle of Scotland, and Burberry Prosum because of their simple and clean pieces that have impeccable tailoring and shape.

If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Gosh, this is a hard question! But I would love to raid the closet of Chloƫ Sevigny. She has such a chic and quirky look that is very much her own. She always puts together the most amazing looks made up of classic pieces in unexpected colors and patterns. She inspires me so much. If I could get my hands on everything in her closet, I would be the happiest girl in the world!

Who would you love to give a wardrobe makeover?
If I had to choose, I would probably give a makeover to Kirsten Stewart. I think she is such a great actress with a beautiful face, but her red carpet looks don't seem like they are her own, and she always wears the same thing out and about: jeans, sneakers, t-shirt, and a hoodie. I would love to see her in a chic pair of high-waisted trousers, a rocker tee, and a leather blazer. She would look so cool!

If you could give one fashion tip to anyone, what would it be?
My fashion would be to dress how you feel. Think about what inspires you, your hobbies, stories you love, places you have been to, etc., and in turn think about you can channel your inspiration into your clothes. Dress to represent yourself, and always dress for yourself and nobody else.
