Gingham Girl

Today Rocko and I were enjoying some of this lovely weather in our courtyard. Him in a dog bone print and myself in gingham...and both in red. He might not have been so happy that we dressed like twins...but I won this battle. Aren't we just adorable together!?!?!

I have been doing a bunch of shopping at Lord & Taylor lately. That's what happens when you work two blocks from their midtown location. Not that I really mind...they have been having amazing sales lately (and their show department is spectacular!). Stop by now because they are having their friends and family sale! You can thank me later!

So much going on in my neighborhood this weekend. We'll be stopping by the Northside Festival and it's festivities on Bedford Avenue. Art, music, food, and fun...sounds like a good time to me. Follow along on my Instagram and Snapchat (snapshotfashion) for my adventures!!!

Have a happy Saturday!

New York Fashion Week on the Horizon

New York Fashion Week is practically here! Even though tomorrow marks the official start, a number of shows, events, and parties have already started. There are so many things I'm looking forward to over the next week.

I also am really looking forward to meeting up with some of my favorite bloggers that will be in town. Can't wait! If you are going to be in NYC let me know. I won't be too available during the day as I'll be at work...but would love to meet up with people on the evenings and weekends.

Links with Style

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! It's been rather gloomy here in NYC, but I'm not letting that spoil it. So far it has been full of tons of long walks, a Broadway show, and hanging out with my favorite pup. Perfection.

I thought I'd put together a list of my favorite links this week. Enjoy---

~Guys love J.Crew gingham shirts...for real. FYI, this is hilarious.

~Janis Joplin's niece, Malyn Joplin, has a new clothing line out called Made for Pearl which is inspired by her aunt. If you know how much I adore Janis Joplin, you can surely understand how much I'm obsessed with this line.

~Bella Hadid just signed with IMG models. She's the 17-year-old daughter to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster and sister to 19-year-old Sports Illustrated model Gigi Hadid.

~Kelly Osbourne is launching her first contemporary fashion line for women. Her line, Stories...By Kelly Osbourne, will become available on HSN on September 25th.

In other news...I chopped my hair! I said goodbye to my long locks and hello to a new look. My favorite salon, HeadChop, hooked me up with a long angled bob and I think it is adorable.

Which Dior Look Is Your Favorite?

It makes me so happy to see Natalie Portman out promoting a new movie. It feels like ages since she's been on the scene. Understandable, since she took some time off after having her son in 2012. I'm a huge fan of her acting, but even more of her style. It's no surprise that she'll be wearing Christian Dior while out promoting her movies and going to events, since she is a spokesperson...but I am always so delighted with the pieces she chooses.

Here are three looks that Natalie has fashioned over the last week. She is just stunning! Don't you agree?

Personally, I think the slim pants and strapless top is my favorite look. It's different and fun...and her hair and makeup are looking amazing! I do with the top was a little more shapely, but I do really love the colors and pattern.

Which Christian Dior look would you love in your closet???

Cartoon Icons from the 1990's Take Over NYFW

You may remember last year when classic Disney characters got a fashion makeover for Barney's holiday campaign. Well, I have some new makeovers to show you (that are so amazing!)...just in time for New York Fashion Week. Your favorite cartoon characters from the 1990's are getting a serious wardrobe makeover by Swagger New York and Italian designer Michele Moricci. Everyone from Beavis & Butthead to Sailor Moon...and my favorite, Daria!

Be sure to check out all of the fabulous looks! Which one is your favorite?

Lookin' Fab: Scarlett Johansson

First off, I need to say congratulations to Scarlett Johansson! In case you didn't hear: she is newly engaged to her French journalist boyfriend of ten months, Romain Dauriac.

Secondly, doesn't she look absolutely amazing here? This look is so simple and stylish...and really is a look anyone can pull off. The stripe print keeps this look chic, the high waisted pants elongate her 5'3" frame, and the peep-toes add a little sass. No matter if you have $40 to spend on this look head to toe, or $500...it will look stunning at any price. That is how you know this look is classic.

What do you think of this look on Scarlett?

Cooking Channel Fashionistas

I'm not going to lie, I watch more television than I should. The crazy thing is that I'd say about 50% of my television viewing is of food shows...especially on the Cooking Channel. My husband and I love to cook...and better yet, we love to eat. Even though I typically watch these shows for the recipes and the fun personalities of the hosts, I often watch it for the style. The added bonus of fabulous hair, perfect makeup, and a drool worthy wardrobe makes me love these following ladies even more!

Debi Mazar of Extra Virgin- her style is all about the drama, vintage dresses (that she cooks complicated Italian meals in), and glamorous hair.

Nadia G. of Bitchin' Kitchen- her style is a little bit rock and roll, very edgy, a little bit crazy (in a good way), and with a shoe collection that is out of this world.

Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark of Tripping Out with Alie & Georgia- these ladies are quirky, classy, and full of pizzazz!

What do you think about mixing fashion and food? As someone that is obsessed with everything visual, I definitely think this works. If these ladies were doing the same shows but were wearing boring jeans and a tee shirt (or worse, something frumpy), their programs just wouldn't be the same.

The Presley's Style On PAPERMAG

If I could be transported back to any decade I think it would have to be the 1960's. Fashion from that time was so cutting edge. And what is even more amazing is that it's still in style today!

From capri pants, to mod shift dresses, to bell-bottoms, to white tall boots...this decade was ever changing. However, I think when anyone thinks of the 1960's we all immediately think of a particular stylish couple: Elvis and Priscilla.

Be sure to check out the entire photoshoot on Paper Magazine's website. Which look is your favorite from this shoot?

What do you think of the styles of the 1960's, and would you wear them today? Also, if you could go back in time for the fashion, which decade would you travel to?

Wanna Hangout???

I have some exciting news for my readers! You all know I absolutely adore Google+ Hangouts (where you can video chat in groups of up to ten people). It's so fun and interactive...and a great way to meet readers that you normally wouldn't get to speak with due to geographical restrictions.

I'm happy to announce that one of my favorite bloggers from Australia, Sevan from Seven Autumn Leaves, will be co-hosting a Google+ Hangout session with me next week! Now since her and I have a 14 hour time difference between us (Sevan in Melbourne and myself in NYC) finding a time to hold this was rather tricky! This hangout session will be going on 8pm Friday, May 10th eastern time (and 10am Saturday, May 11th for those of you in Melbourne). For those of you in between here and there you can figure out the time according to your own time zone!  :-P

Up to eight people can join us for a chat about fashion, style, and trends! If you would like to join in on the conversation please leave your email address below in the comment section and I'll be sure to get you in the circle. Now like I said, there is only enough room for eight to join us...so I'll put the first eight on the list...however, if there are more than eight that are interested in joining us I will put them on a waiting list in case a space opens up. I do ask that you make sure you have Google+, a webcam, a microphone, and KNOW HOW TO USE THE HANGOUT SESSION FEATURE! If you have any questions feel free to email me and I'll try to help you out. It really is super easy!

If you know you cannot make it but still want to join in on the fun we are asking that you leave us some questions about fashion and we will try to answer them during the hangout. You can leave your questions in the comment section below, email them to me, or even leave them in a comment on my Facebook. The first portion of the hangout will be answering reader's questions...and then the second half we'll be talking about our favorite trends and how to wear them.

I'm also going to try to record the hangout session to share with everyone that cannot join. I've never tried recording a hangout before...so hopefully I'll do that correctly!

I hope many of you can join in on the fun! It's always wonderful meeting readers!

Emma vs. Emma

For some reason I'm often mixing up Emma Roberts and Emma Watson. So crazy because I think of myself as a celebrity buff (and my friends can attest to that). They are both in their early 20's, both of them are absolutely stunning, and both have an amazing sense of style...oh yeah, and they are both named Emma! So you can see how I would often make the mix up, right?

Let's take a closer look at each of their individual styles-

EMMA ROBERTS

EMMA WATSON

Which Emma's style do you love more? I'm kind of torn...I really think they both look fabulous. But, I might lean more towards Emma Watson's just because she seems to like to take chances more.
