Bring on Spring

Now that February is practically over I'm constantly thinking of springtime. Only a few more weeks until spring is officially here (I know this because my brithday is also on the first day of spring: March 20th)...but with all the cold and snow yet to come I need a little bit of visual motivation to get my mind there. The sun has been shining, and I'm finally able to shed two or three layers of clothing without freezing. Before you know it spring will be here. I should know...my birthday is the first day of spring (March 20th). 

Nothing screams spring time to me more than dresses. Granted, I wear dresses all the time. Yep, even through the Polar Vortex. But there is something about dresses like the adorable one I have shown here that shows that spring is in bloom. The bright colors, the fabulous bow, the loud print...it's like it is shouting: SPRING IS (almost) HERE!

I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve, had fun celebrating, and are having a relaxing day of recovery today. Unfortunately my NYE was not so glamorous. I was incredibly sick (yes, I know...STILL SICK!), and passed out before midnight thanks to the codeine laced cough syrup my doctor gave me. The fireworks and people screaming woke me up for a few minutes when the clock struck 12...but then I zonked back out. I'm actually feeling a good deal better today (thank goodness) and hoping 2014 is going to be a bit brighter and bring me lots of joy and happiness.

Beach Blanket Bingo

It seems like lately all I have been doing is dreaming of having a swimming pool, talking about the heatwave, and dripping in sweat. In A New York Minute

You would never know that yesterday in NYC we got a few inches of snow. Today it was in the mid-50's and the sun was shining on anything that would sit still. It was the perfect day for a walk in Central Park. What I just love about the park is that even though it was beyond full you can always find a few spots where you feel like you have the entire park to yourself.

Earlier today I stopped by Urban Outfitters to pick up these adorable oxfords that I have had my eye on for some time. I didn't buy them in previous visits because I wasn't sure I'd wear them or not...but I couldn't stop thinking about them. So buy them I did!!!

I adore this polka-dot dress that I got a few months back thanks to winning a contest on the blog We Wear Things. It combined three of my favorite things: black & white, a peplum, and polka-dots. In my eyes these three things are a winning combination!

One thing I never really do is experiment with my hair. I usually curl it every day...but that's about it. Today I was feeling creative and thought I should jazz it up a little. So I opted to make myself a braided headband hairstyle. What do you think? I kind of like it!
