Flutter Into Spring

On my way home tonight I made a detour through McCarren Park to the dog park (Rocko's most favorite spot in the world). As he ran around I realized something...spring is finally here! The dogs in the park were smiling and having a good time, the birds were chirping, the flowers on the trees were blooming, and it was 70 degrees! It will be just a matter of time before the butterflies start to emerge from their cocoons. Until then, I suggest you prep your wardrobe with the butterfly print trend that is taking over the season.

Now that February is practically over I'm constantly thinking of springtime. Only a few more weeks until spring is officially here (I know this because my brithday is also on the first day of spring: March 20th)...but with all the cold and snow yet to come I need a little bit of visual motivation to get my mind there. These dresses seem to do the trick!

Springing Into Spring With Pastels & Florals

One thing I love about springtime is the warmer weather. I don't do well with cold, at all. Often when I'm complaining about how cold winter can be people often think I must be from the south or out west. But nope! I've been living in the northeast all my life. I guess I'm just a wimp!!!

When the warmer weather comes around so do the pretty spring dresses! This year I'm loving the floral prints that are out there. What is surprising is that I'm actually loving pastel floral prints. When I look through the sea of black that is my wardrobe, I'll find colors and prints here and there...but they are always bright and bold. I can honestly say that I don't think I own anything in a pastel shade.

But my wardrobe might have to start to change, as I am head over heels for these super cute and feminine pastel dresses! Don't you just love them???

Must Have Color Combos

Make your way onto any red carpet and you will certainly come across this fabulous color combination: white and nude. This is a winning look on anyone! Chic and classy...and always on trend. If I can suggest any look for the spring/summer season I would tell you to make sure you have a little white dress and a pair of nude pumps. This simple look will go far...and last you for many years (while still remaining stylish).

Check out how some of our favorite celebs put this look together---

Spring Color Combos

Navy and cream are a classic color combination that always looks so very stylish. This color combo is huge this season. Look at any red carpet event and you'll see celebrities draped in navy and cream. Wear it in stripes, dots, prints, or color block it...no matter how you wear it, you'll look stunning.

How do you plan on wearing this great color combo???

Spring Color Combos

Spring always makes me want to swap out all of my black clothing (which is the majority of my wardrobe) for lighter and brighter hues. One color combination that I love for spring is purple and mint. I think it makes any outfit so much more young and fun.

What do you think of this color combo? Are you planning to try purple and mint this season? If so, how do you plan on wearing it?

Colorful Pants for Spring

Tomorrow is April 1st and the weather here in the northeast is anything but spring-like. I'm hoping that one day soon warmer weather will be brought my way...until then, here's to daydreaming about spring.

This season everyone is talking about bright pops of color (particularly bright and bold pants). I will be the first one to admit, I do not own any colorful pants...but I do adore this trend. Colorful pants are a nice break from the typical blue jeans and I really think that it's a trend we should all try. Wearing bright pops of color like this just makes you happier, right? Hey, it puts a smile on my face.  :-)

Here are some of my favorite colored pants for the season---

BDG Twill Grazer Cigarette Pant available at Urban Outfitters- $49

Slim Waistband Crop Pants available at ASOS- $62.76

Tab Front Peg Linen Pants available at ASOS- $62.76

Broken-in Skimmer available at Gap- $49.50

What color could you see yourself in for spring?

Do you have a picture of yourself wearing this trend? If so, we'd love to see it. Just send a snapshot to snapshotfashion@gmail.com.

Trend Block

The weather the other week totally spoiled me. I actually started to think that spring is here...but then the snow we got a few days later shook me back to reality. While I was thinking about warmer weather I started to daydream of pretty floral sundresses. Floral print dresses are the trend for spring. Actually, I don't think they EVER go out of style...so stocking up on a few is probably in your best interest because you'll be able to wear them for many seasons to come and still look amazingly hip. Here are my favorite floral frock picks for spring---

Which dresses listed above do you have to have? How do you feel about floral dresses? Is there another floral dress that you love that didn't make it on Snapshot Fashion's list? Please feel free to share!
