Now that the weather is finally warming up I'm looking forward to busting out some spring clothing. Who's with me??? To me nothing says spring more than this adorable weekend look. Isn't it cute?

Next weekend my husband and I are going to New Orleans for a long weekend (March 13th-16th)...and I cannot wait! Today I decided to do something a little crazy and out of the ordinary...wear pants! I absolutely love my tights and live in skirts and dresses (yes, even on the weekends). I guess I was feeling a little crazy today. Maybe because it is February...maybe because of the snowstorm on the horizon...maybe because of all of the smoke I breathed in yesterday...who knows!?!?

I really love this new tunic (or maybe it is a shrunken dress?) that I picked up at Crossroads Trading Co. I always have the best luck there. Speaking of Crossroads, I really need to get there very soon. My closet is overflowing and I need to get rid of some stuff (AKA make room for some new clothing).

Even though I live in a busy neighborhood, I love that it's pretty dead to the world before noon. Walking around Williamsburg in the mornings makes me feel like it's all mine...even if for a moment few hours. I just love that. This weekend is going to be extra rainy and disgusting...so I gotta make the most of it while I can.

Once the rain starts I think my weekend is going to consist of finishing up The Andy Cohen Diaries (which I got for Christmas and am obsessed with), hanging out with my husband & pup, eating homemade fried chicken, and watching some movies. Sounds like a great weekend to me!

My weekend has started extra early...and I need it. My last two weeks have been so busy, I really need this day to just relax. On a day like today you won't fit me sitting around in sweats...or even jeans...I'm actually wearing a look that is very close to the look I have posted above. To me there is nothing more comfortable (and chic!) than a dress, tights, and tall boots.

On those days when I really have no idea what to wear, or feel like I don't have anything to wear, a simple outfit is usually better. Obviously if you can't figure out an outfit easily, the chances of you over accessorizing or trying too hard (which will look like you are trying too hard) are huge. Your fashion brain is turned off...and it's okay! It happens to the best of us. That's why I suggest a great pair of jeans, a fun print and/or pop of color, and some subtle accessories for a day like this. Stick to this rule and you'll always look amazing!

I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve, had fun celebrating, and are having a relaxing day of recovery today. Unfortunately my NYE was not so glamorous. I was incredibly sick (yes, I know...STILL SICK!), and passed out before midnight thanks to the codeine laced cough syrup my doctor gave me. The fireworks and people screaming woke me up for a few minutes when the clock struck 12...but then I zonked back out. I'm actually feeling a good deal better today (thank goodness) and hoping 2014 is going to be a bit brighter and bring me lots of joy and happiness.
