87th Academy Awards- What I Hope They Wear

Is anyone else freaking out about the fashion possibilities that will grace the red carpet tonight as Hollywood's finest arrive at the 87th Academy Awards? Every awards season I put together my picks for what I hope they will wear...and maybe this year some of them will listen to me.

Kerry Washington Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 RTW

Jennifer Aniston Pamella Roland Fall 2015 RTW

Felicity Jones in Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture

Emma Stone in Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture

Scarlett Johansson Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture

Okay, it's pretty obvious that anything and everything by Elie Saab wins my heart over every time. What do you hope the attendees wear tonight???

What They Should Be Wearing- Oscars 2014

As I said in my previous post, the Oscars are tomorrow and the highlight of the day for me will be the red carpet! I always love to guess what my favorite actresses will be wearing (or at least what they should be wearing) on their big night. So...let's get to it...

Jennifer Lawrence in Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture

Lupita Nyong'o in Oscar de la Renta Fall 2014 Ready-To-Wear

Amy Adams in Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture

Anne Hathaway in Christian Siriano Fall 2014 Ready-To-Wear

Kate Hudson in Jenny Packham Fall 2014 Ready-To-Wear

Angelina Jolie in Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture

What do you think of my picks? What would you want the attendees to wear if you could style them?

#snapshotfashionparty

One of my favorite times of year is almost here...the red carpet at the Oscars! In the past years when award shows have had their red carpets I have celebrated in a number of ways with my readers, from Twitter chats to Google Hangouts. This year I wanted to step up my game a little and host a fun cocktail party during the red carpet. Yummy champagne cocktails, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and adorable outfits...this is how I like to ring in the red carpet! It's going to be a good time.

I wanted to thank my amazing party sponsors, Primp and Polish, Boy Meets Girl, and Grey Jewelry, who have all generously donated prizes for the party's best dressed. Be sure to check out all of their links.

I wish you all could join me. Since that can't happen, you can definitely join me virtually! There will be posts all afternoon on my instagram and Twitter pages. Please follow along #snapshotfashionparty. I'll also be putting up a recap blog post...so stay tuned for that!!!

*Also, Boy Meets Girl has wanted to gift something to all of my readers. They are giving everyone 10% off when you enter to code snapshotfashion.

Google+ Hangout- 2012 Emmy Awards

This Sunday the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will be televised and I couldn't be more excited. I have to admit, these are probably my favorite awards to watch. I'm not hip with new music...so I almost never watch the Grammy Awards. I can't tell you the last time I went to see a movie in the theater...so when the Academy Awards are on I typically haven't seen any that are nominated. But I do watch my fair share of television. Maybe too much???

I have hosted a number of Google+ Hangouts for award shows in the past, and thought it would be a blast to do this again. It seems that as of recently people are starting to get very interested with Google+ Hangouts. Personally, I think they are so much fun! If you have no idea what a hangout is, or haven't tried one yet let me explain. It is a multi-person video chat. Up to ten people can chat in one session. It's so cool!

There are two rules that I have for this hangout session-
1) You must have the E! channel to join. It would be really silly to join in on the conversation if you couldn't see what we are talking about.
2) Please make sure that you have an idea on how to use Google+ Hangout prior to the hangout session. Make sure your webcam and microphone are working. In the past there have been a lot of people that wanted to join in and didn't know what they were doing...which had them miss the video chat. If you are asking what is Google+, you need to have a gmail account to access this.

This Sunday tune into E! for their red carpet coverage starting at 6pm eastern time. We'll be chatting about our favorite (and least favorite) looks as we see them live until 8pm eastern time. You do not have to be there for the entire two hours. If you are interested in joining in on the fun be sure to email me and I will get you on the list!

I hope to see you there!!!

What They Should Be Wearing- Academy Awards

I don't know about you, but I am so excited for the Oscars tomorrow!!! Well, let me rephrase that...I'm sort of excited about the actual show (it's always SO LONG...) but the anticipation for the red carpet is killing me. I know there are sure to be some hits and misses when it comes to the gowns selected, so I thought I'd help the celebrities out with some fashion that I know would look fantastic on them. I'm excited to see if they pick my looks (haha!).

Emma Stone- Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture

Michelle Williams- Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture

Natalie Portman- Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2012

Penelope Cruz- Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012

Angelina Jolie- Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012

Cameron Diaz- Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture

Octavia Spencer- Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture

What do you hope your favorite actresses wear tomorrow? Can you tell that I'm hoping to see some color on that red carpet???

Don't forget that Snapshot Fashion is hosting a Google+ hangout where we'll chat about the red carpet looks while watching E!'s coverage. There is still time to join. Just shoot me and email and I'll get you on the list. Only a couple spots remain...so don't wait!

Academy Awards Red Carpet "Hangout"

Newsflash...the Oscars are NEXT SUNDAY!!! I'm so excited for the gowns, the celebrities, the jewels, and the hair styles. I just adore awards season, don't you?

In honor of the Academy Awards I'll be hosting another red carpet "hangout" on Google+. I am inviting all of my fellow fashion bloggers, favorite designers, and loyal readers to join me on Sunday, February 26th at 4pm eastern/1pm pacific time. We will all be watching E!'s coverage of the red carpet and talking about all the hits and misses at the awards. I have already sent out an evite to those that I think might be interested...but if I missed you please email me and I'll get you on the evite ASAP! You will need to have Google+ on your computer, a webcam, and the E! channel. Please make sure that you have Google+ downloaded before the chat (it only takes a few minutes). Space is limited, so if you need the evite please email me to let me know right away. I hope to see a bunch of you there on Sunday!

Best & Worst Dressed of the SAG Awards

Last evening was the SAG Awards. Were you watching? I have to admit, overall the looks on the red carpet were really fantastic. I thought that the majority of celebrities stepped it up from the Golden Globes a few weeks ago. At the Golden Globes it seemed as though everyone was either in nude or black...and at last night's SAG Awards a lot more color was worn which made me smile.

BEST DRESSED

Michelle Williams looked so lovely in red. Simple yet totally chic. She was my favorite of the evening.

Emily Blunt's dress was a show stopper. On TV it looked more lime in color than it does here in this photo. I love it either way.

Diane Lane was a dream in this blue one shoulder number. She kept her hair up in a simple ponytail. Supposedly it was rather warm in LA yesterday...so being comfortable was key!

WORST DRESSED

Amber Heard (who I'm still not sure who she is...but here she looks so much like Scarlett Johansson) looks like she ran into Edward Scissorhands on the way to the red carpet. I'm fine with cut-outs...but this was just too much. Can we say overkill?

Rose Byrne...where do I begin? Let me start out with a compliment: I love her hair! Now, on to the jumpsuit. When they were initially interviewing her they just showed the top portion of her outfit and I thought she looked really cute...and then they scrolled down. It's like she raided Elvis's closet.

I really hate it when bad fashion happens to good people. Kristen Wiig...what the heck are you wearing? The color and style of the dress aren't terrible. I do wish that the waist was higher and not dropped like this. It just makes her look dumpy. My biggest issue (what makes her my worst dressed of the night) is that she is wearing a halter and a big ugly choker. Kristen, take note: you do not wear a fat choker (or really any necklace like that) with a halter style dress. NEVER.

Who made your best and worst dressed lists of the SAG Awards? Do you agree with my list?

What They Should Be Wearing- SAG Awards

I love awards season! To me nothing is better than watching my favorite celebrities strut their stuff down the red carpet while wearing a fabulous gown. The other week I watched the Golden Globes and thought most of the celebs looked okay...but some of them just looked like they were playing it safe. I'm super excited to see what they will be wearing to the Oscars. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This Sunday is the SAG Awards and I'm spending my Friday evening thinking of what my favorite actresses will be wearing should be wearing.

Sofia Vergara's curves would look amazing in this Zac Posen gown.

I would love to see Kaley Cuoco in a bold color to keep her look young and fun. This Christian Dior dress would be fantastic on her.

This red Elie Saab gown would be perfection on Julie Bowen. I think it would look so great with her blonde hair.

The vintage feel to this Reem Acra would be so beautiful on Michelle Williams.

Emma Stone would look breathtaking in this Badgley Mischka gown.

What do you think of my picks? What do you hope your favorite actresses wear?

Don't forget to join the red carpet hangout going on via Google+ on Sunday.

SAG Award "Hangout"

This Sunday is the SAG Awards...and Snapshot Fashion is going to host another Google+ hangout session where we will talk about the fashions on the red carpet. I did this a couple of weeks ago for the Golden Globes, and even though it was fun I will be the first to admit that there were a bunch of hiccups in figuring out Google+. I had never used it before (oops!)...but I think I have it figured out and hopefully it will run a lot more smoothly this time. This will sort of be a mini-practice session because I will also be doing this for the upcoming Oscars.

If you want to join in on the video chat session please be sure you have Google+, a webcam, and E! channel. Please email me if you are interested. The red carpet begins at 6pm eastern time on Sunday, January 29th on E!.

Red Carpet Hangout

The Golden Globes are on this Sunday and can I just say I couldn't be more excited! I *love* red carpet events...and I really love it when E! is on the red carpet showing off all the fashion. Thanks to my new interest in Google+ I came up with a great idea: a red carpet hangout session. Usually I result to just tweeting about the styles on the red carpet...but with Google+ hangouts you can video chat with multiple people. I am inviting all fashion bloggers to join me in a fun hangout this Sunday. I have already sent evites to most of my fellow fashion bloggers...but if I missed you and you are a fashion blogger, have Google+, a webcam, and the E! channel shoot me an email and I'll send you the evite. Please take note that there is a limited number of spaces in the hangout available.

Freezing on the Red Carpet

I was so surprised to hear that it's going to be a chilly evening tonight on the red carpet in Los Angeles. We're talking in the 40s people! My first thought was, what are the actresses going to be wearing to stay warm? Long sleeves, maybe? Or will they opt for a jacket or shawl of some sort? I personally know that if I were there I'd be wearing SOMETHING (anything) on my arms. I know that when my arms are cold it makes my entire body cold. I thought that these jackets would be totally wearable over a stunning Oscar gown and not distracting.

What do you think? What would you wear over a red carpet evening gown? Would you just wear long sleeves? Or would just suck it up, show your bare arms, and freeze for fashion?

Golden Globes Fashion Review

I have to say, there were a lot of amazing looks at last night's Golden Globe Awards. Of all the dresses in the world to wear I always find it crazy how many celebs end up wearing similar trends on the red carpet. This year seemed to be the year of nude hues, shades of green, and long sleeves. Here is my list of best and worst dressed of the evening.

BEST DRESSED

Mandy Moore

Anne Hathaway

Emma Stone

Mila Kunis

Eva Longoria

WORST DRESSED

Natalie Portman

Julianne Moore

Halle Berry

Helena Bonham Carter

Michelle Williams

Which looks were your favorite from last night? Which looks did you hate???
