Best Boots for the Buck

I absolutely hate the middle of winter, but what I love about this time of year are the sales on boots! The best part is if you take advantage of the boot sales now you'll still have another month or two that you can wear them before the warmer spring weather arrives.

Here are my picks for the best boot deals that are going on:

Aila by KORS Michael Kors available at Piperlime- $495 $224.99

DV by Dolce Vita Tyson Suede Boot available at Urban Outfitters- $180 $99.99

Boutique 9 'Feliece' Boot available at Nordstrom- $259.95 $174.16

Ride On Time Boot available at ModCloth- $79.99 $55.99

Back Buckled Tall Boot available at American Eagle Outfitters- $79.95 $39.99

As a side note, I'm super excited to be attending the Boy Meets Girl fashion show later on this afternoon. Be sure to check back for a post about the show, and follow along on my Instagram where I will be posting some photos of the event.

Must Haves- Shoes

A girl can never have too many shoes in their closet. Am I right ladies? Footwear really does pull an outfit together and gives it a finishing touch. Here I compiled some of my favorite shoe styles out there right now. So if you are in need of a new pair of kicks try one of these in my collage below...I guarantee you will get compliments!

My Boots Finally Arrived

I have been waiting for the boots I ordered to arrive for days now...and they finally showed up today. WOOHOO! I was in desperate need of new boots for some time now, so I ordered two very affordable pair.

First let me tell you about the black pair. These are the Gomax Primadonna boots that I purchased via Piperlime. They are so comfy...and the heel height is perfect. My only issue with them is how high they come up on my leg. I have only tried them on with a skirt...and they look a little awkward. If they were an inch or two taller or shorter they would be perfect. They come up high enough that they just cover my knee caps. Awkward, right??? But, I do think that they will look fantastic with a pair of jeans.

Now let me tell you about the more casual brown pair. These are the Candie's Tall Boots that I picked up at Kohl's. I LOVE THEM! I see myself wearing these a lot. I actually don't have any brown shoes...so I'm really excited about them.

Hooray for new boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dress Like a Celebrity

Lately Drew Barrymore has been out and about promoting her new movie, Going the Distance (which I really want to see by the way!). While making appearances on talk shows I noticed one thing that she loves...her YSL grey platform pumps.

I love seeing that some celebs wear certain pieces over and over again. It just makes them seem more human to me. What I love about what Drew does here is she really wears them with everything. She dresses them up...then dresses them down.

Do you adore Drew's shoes, but don't have close to $800 to afford them. No worries. I found two great alternatives that will give you a similar look but won't break the bank.

What do you think about suede platform pumps? I just love them...especially for the fall. Your thoughts???

Pick of the Day

One item that my summer wardrobe is majorly lacking is a chunky platform sandal. While browsing Chinese Laundry's website I came across the most fabulous pair. These SASSYFRAS sandals will look perfect with just about anything you wear...jeans, a skirt, a casual dress...*instant fab*!!! Not only does it come in two great colors (tan and black)...but it also adds a nice 4 1/2" to your height.

What would you wear with these sandals?

Trend Block

Mary Janes are always a classic shoe that never goes out of style. Well now they are making these shoes a bit more trendy and even more adorable---with the addition of a bow. How cute and feminine are these? I just love them! Both of these shoes are on sale, however, one is a bit cheaper than the other.

These Madison Harding Patent Mary Janes available at Nordstom. They have a 3 1/2" heel and are come in two colors: stone/sky and black (which is shown). Originally priced at $159.95, they are now on sale for $94.90.

These Patent Ribbon-Trim Mary Janes from Old Navy are a much cheaper alternative to this trend. They come in a variety of colors: plum (shown below), black, and pewter. Regularly priced at $39.50 they are now on sale for only $19.99. I'd hurry though...only select sizes remain! *Please note that these are only available on oldnavy.com.
Which pair do you like better? Would you try this trend?

Christian Siriano for Payless

Christian Siriano has to be one of my all-time favorite winners of Project Runway (and probably one of my all time favorite contestants). It has me sad that I can't afford his amazing designs...but I will be able to in the fall of 2009! Christian will be designing a collection of shoes and bags for Payless! Payless will be taking his runway designs and transforming them into pieces that everyone can afford. These designs will be very wallet friendly ($25-45).

Will you be taking advantage of Christian's fierce designs on the cheap?
